Events

We don’t overthink too much in this area. We have so many reasons to celebrate, and so many topics to talk about that not one week can pass without some kind of Mistral event. One could say that our frequent get-togethers are the main reason our size never trumps our ‘wolf pack’ spirit.

External events

This is how we classify all events open to the external audience. We always promote such events through social media channels and invite all interested to register prior to attending. This type of event is a little less frequent but definitely worthwhile. If you have an idea for a meetup or something, we’re also up for co-hosting, so don’t be a stranger. Drop us a line via Contact page.

September

Thursday, 12PM

Azure functions provide powerful execution options in different areas. It is possible to download a whole run-time and run it on the local machines. You can build your functions into the Docker image and deploy it if you want as a container. All these facts provide an excellent choice for one of the best container orchestration tool, the Kubernetes. Ratomir Vukadin will show you how to involve all these in data platforms projects and scale your function with the KEDA framework, and how KEDA works in combination with Kubernetes.

‘Bouncing Back From Stress – What Not to Do’ with Mustafa

18

November

With or without the advice from experts on how to handle stress, everyone has their own idea on what can make it go away. However, not all of these ideas have merit; what’s more, many could be causing more harm than good. On Wednesday, November 18, we will discuss the common pitfalls in self-management of stress and how to avoid them, with our very own in-house counselor Mustafa Šuvalija.

Race for the Cure with Nela Hasić

02

September

Wednesday, 11AM

Race for the Cure is the world’s largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer worldwide. The funds raised last year in BiH were used to purchase a “First aid” kit  for 1,400 women from all over BiH, provided 1,000 free mammograms for women without healthcare, and those living in rural areas.

This year, the race will be virtual, and the intent is to raise the biggest amount of money so far. Let’s join Nela Hasić, representative of Race for the Cure BiH, true superwoman and a life long activist, to hear more about this year’s plans. We will take a look at all the things this platform did for women all over BiH and create our own fundraising race #TeamMistral!

Rust – Packages, Crates, and Modules

01

July

Wednesday, 10AM

A key question when writing programs is scope: what names does the compiler know about at this location in the code? What functions am I allowed to call? What does this variable refer to? Rust has a number of features related to scopes. This is sometimes called “the module system,” but it encompasses more than just modules (Packages, Crates, and Modules). Amir Muminović will cover all of these concepts in the upcoming Practice Group session.
